Dental Implants in Lexington, KY

Fear of pain is usually the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of any dental service.  The good news with implant dentistry in the 40504 area is that it typically requires less dental anesthetic to place an implant than it does to have a simple filling done.  Most implants are placed with proper numbing localized to the area of the implant, however certain sleep/sedation dentistry options are also available.

Avoid smoking, keep blood sugar under control if diabetic, and take all Rx medications.  And of course, call us with any questions or concerns.

Dental Implants at Garden Springs Dental

The first step is to set up a consultation appointment with Dr. Jones. At this appointment Dr. Jones will review all aspects of implant dentistry in Lexington, KY with the patient.  A CBCT (3D scan) will be taken of the patient to evaluate the patient’s bone and see if implants are an option.  A financial presentation will also be given to the patient by one of our treatment coordinators to help the patients better understand their insurance and various payment options.

Though every patient is different, most can resume a softer diet the day of placing the implant.  As you begin the healing process, you can listen to your body on just how quickly you want to resume harder foods.

We ask you avoid harder foods, as well as hot foods for a few days following the procedure.

A general rule is somewhere in neighborhood of 3-6 months. However, this time period can change on a case by case basis and can be longer or shorter depending on the patient and clinical situation.

It takes around 4-6 months for certain implants to integrate.   We like to wait until the implant has fully integrated before loading (placing crown).

After reviewing your CBCT (3D scan) and your medical history, if Dr. Jones determines that you may not be a good candidate for implants, Dr. Jones will review all other treatment options available to you to obtain your desired results.

An implant is made of Titanium, which is one the most bio-compatible materials on the market.  It is placed in the bone and acts as an artificial root.

Implant dentistry has recently been added to Garden Springs Dental.  Implants are a versatile treatment in dentistry that allows for the replacement of a single tooth, but can also be used to replace several teeth or even entire arches of teeth.
